BYD unveils Dancing car at tech launch event

BYD showcased its dancing car new technology, called DiSus, during its tech launch event ahead of the Shanghai Auto Show. The technology was demonstrated on upcoming EVs under the Yangwang luxury brand, which was launched in January. BYD showcased U9 EV Priced at $150,000 under new Yangwang sub-brand.

DiSus system debuts in Yangwang U8 SUV

BYD unveiled its new e⁴ platform during a presentation. The platform houses the upcoming Yangwang U8 SUV. The DiSus system is used in the Yangwang U8 SUV and is described as the first in-house intelligent body control technology introduced by a Chinese automaker. The DiSus system allows for a crabwalk feature that was popular with the audience at the time.

BYD introduces Yangwang U9 EV

BYD has now introduced the Yangwang U9, which has a more advanced version of the DiSus system. The Yangwang U9 is an all-electric supercar that can dance, adjust its height, and even hop off the ground using the DiSus system. The Yangwang U9 made its first physical debut in China after a digital launch last year.

DiSus system offers advanced features

The DiSus system allows for electrical signal control rather than traditional mechanical control, which is a new EV architecture. The DiSus system includes a number of sensing technologies with advanced deep intelligence, increasing perception. The DiSus system also incorporates a systematic approach to vertical motion, which is not commonly associated with cars.

DiSus divided into three categories

BYD has developed an advanced suspension system called DiSus. DiSus is divided into three categories: DiSus-C, DiSus-A, and DiSus-P. DiSus-C adjusts the damping of the EV by controlling the damper solenoid valve, improving driving comfort. DiSus-A offers adjustments up to 150 mm with over a dozen height modes and adjusts to the EV’s speed, welcome mode, and height safety lock mode. DiSus-P is the most advanced of the three and controls the oil intake of the damper, damping adjustment valve, and stiffness adjustment valve to achieve dynamic body control. DiSus-P offers an instant 200% increase in stiffness during sharp acceleration and deceleration or high-speed cornering, improving handling. DiSus-P offers adjustable suspension up to 200 mm and can lift each wheel independently or all four simultaneously.

DiSus to be available on other vehicles

BYD will debut its DiSus-P system on the Yangwang U8 SUV and DiSus-A on the Denza N7. DiSus-C will be available as an OTA update for certain BYD Han and Tang owners with necessary hardware.

Yangwang U9 boasts impressive features and Price

BYD has launched a new electric vehicle (EV) called the Yangwang U9. The Yangwang U9 can drive on three wheels and jump, thanks to its advanced DiSus system. The DiSus-X system allows the EV to dance, drive on three wheels, and even jump from a standstill. The Yangwang U9 supercar has four motors, can go 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.0 seconds, and starts at around $150,000.
