Mahindra, the Indian multinational automotive manufacturer, has unveiled a new concept electric SUV at the Mahindra EV Fashion Festival, called the BE Rall-E. This new concept vehicle is a ruggedized version of the BE 05, a compact electric SUV that is slated for launch in late 2025. Here are some of the exciting features of the BE Rall-E that you should know about
Sleek and Striking Design
The BE Rall-E is a head-turner with its bright fluorescent green paintwork, multi-coloured graphics, and striking pixellated splatter of green paint below the DRLs. The off-roading bumper with a skid plate and bright-orange tow hook, flanked by large auxiliary lights, provides an intimidating front profile.
Built for Off-Roading
The BE Rall-E is equipped for off-roading with numerous functional modifications that come in handy in extreme conditions. The steel wheels with chunky all-terrain tires, large roof rack for carrying spares and equipment, higher ground clearance, and conventional outer rearview mirrors are a few of the most notable changes from the BE 05.
Powerful Underpinnings
Based on the Mahindra INGLO platform, the BE Rall-E SUV is built on a ground-up electric vehicle platform that supports both rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations. Sharing components with Volkswagen’s MEB modular electric toolkit, the platform is designed to accommodate EV powertrains of various types.
Extreme Capability
Equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration and robust hardware, the BE Rall-E has the potential to be a formidable off-roading vehicle. Electronic aids such as hill descent control and brake-based differentials, already present in other Mahindra models, can further enhance the off-roading capability of the BE Rall-E.
Impressive Range
The BE 05 will offer long-range battery options of up to 80kWh, with an estimated driving range of around 450km, when it launches in late 2025. The SUV will also have fast-charging capability of up to 175kW.
Future Plans
While the BE Rall-E is a concept vehicle and is unlikely to make it into production, it is an impressive showcase of Mahindra’s latest EV technology. The BE 05, on the other hand, is a more practical electric SUV that is set to launch in late 2025. As part of Mahindra’s new BE sub-brand, it is clear that the company is committed to transitioning towards an all-electric vehicle lineup.
