Google recently unveiled new features for its Maps, such as Live View, which utilizes Artificial Intelligence and computer vision. This feature integrates Street View and aerial images to generate a comprehensive virtual model of the world.

People driving an EV need to locate a charging station, and built-in Maps will provide the best one based on variables like current traffic, energy consumption, and battery level. The map will also display the route.

Google has also stated: “If you don’t want to visit that particular station, you can easily swap it with another one with just a few taps,” said the company.

Using the ‘very fast’ charging filter on the map, users can locate charging stations with an EV charger outputting 150 kilowatts or more. This allows numerous users to fill up quickly and get back on the road in 40 minutes or less, according to Google.

“We’ll also show you in search results when places like a supermarket have to charge stations on-site,” informed Google.

Google Maps has been updated to include Live View – a feature that employs Artificial Intelligence and computer vision. This feature combines billions of Street View and aerial images to create accurate, immersive models of the world.

“And it layers helpful information on top like the weather, traffic, and how busy a place is,” said Google.

Immersive viewing is now available in London, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tokyo and New York. The tech giant is planning to expand their services to more cities globally in the near future, including Amsterdam, Florence, Venice and Dublin.

How does the new Search with Live View work?

The new Search with Live View uses AI and augmented reality- enabling people to find things nearby– like ATMs, parks, transit stations or restaurants. This feature works by just lifting your phone while you’re on the street.
