Spy photographers have captured images of the new Mini Cooper SE EV 2024 on the streets of Los Angeles during filming of a TV commercial.

The interior of the Mini Cooper SE Electric is expected to be more spacious and will adopt BMW features. The interior includes advanced driver assistance systems for the first time, and a touchscreen to control its internal systems.

Mini CooperEV 2024 may  boasts up to three battery capacities, including a 40kWh lithium-ion pack confirmed for the Mini, a 54kWh unit for the Cooper SE and a 30kWh battery for city driving.

The design is at its most cohesive at the rear, where the new model uses vertical triangular tail lights. These lights are tied together by a black band across the liftback. The new Mini EV will boast a sleeker and more aerodynamic exterior than its predecessors, with the aim of achieving maximum efficiency.

The standard 40kWh battery will give the Mini 350km (218 miles) of range, while the 54kWh unit should take the Cooper SE out to more than 400km (250 miles). The front-wheel drive Mini Cooper SE EV is scheduled to hit the streets in mid-2024.
